Blind (WoW Machinima)

Check this out. A guy named Percula created a WoW Machinima video that is, frankly, one of the best I’ve ever seen. He did a great job of matching the visuals with the musical score in the background.

Test Videos: Aiptek Action HD

So I promised some videos in my last post on the Aiptek Action HD, and here they are. I tried to cover a wide range of the Aiptek’s functions so you can get a good idea what it is (and isn’t) capable of.

First is a video taken while driving on the highway @ 70mph. No, I wasn’t shooting video and driving simultaneously. I got my little sister to hold the camcorder.

Mini-DisplayPort Adapter

I’ve finally received and gotten to use my mini-DisplayPort to DVI adapter, which means my gorgeous 24-inch monitor is actually useful, instead of sitting around collecting dust. The adapter isn’t anything fancy – typical Apple white plastic, slightly glossy, with mini-DP on one end and DVI on the other. It fits snugly into the video-0ut on my notebook, and seems well-built. The only downside is that it cost me $29.99 plus shipping (also, it took forever to arrive, but that’s the post office’s fault, not Apple’s). Here’s a couple pics of it in action, because we all know how exciting display adapters are:

Call of Duty: World at War

You know what I played a couple nights ago for the first time? Yep, you guessed it – World at War, the most recent addition to the CoD franchise. I was hanging out with a friend that purchased it when it came out, and we ended up playing through parts of the campaign, a couple of the multiplayer maps, and the zombie mod. Want to know what I thought of the game?

I hated it.

It wasn’t so much that the game was really bad, just that it wasn’t all that good. Allow me to explain. Continue reading

New Blog

Check it out! I’ve started yet another blog, entitled Ask Teh Internets (misspellings are on purpose). I know, I’m a total nerd, but that’s too be expected. Zach, of that blog down there in my links that is in Japanese and thus completely incomprehensible to me, claims that I’m even more wired than he is (which is either an accomplishment or just sad, I’m not sure). Anyway, I might as well have another vaguely productive outlet so that my time online isn’t completely wasted. Continue reading

PC Component Holiday Guides

It’s that time of the year, boys and girls. Whether you’re celebrating Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, Festivus, or any other winter-related holiday, chances are you’re planning on buying gifts for family and friends (or convincing people to buy things for you). If you’re a geek, or you’re buying for a geek, pc components are a great holiday gift – I personally can’t resist the urge to upgrade whenever I’ve got the available funds. With that in mind, several sites have put together guides to help you decide what brand to go with, or particular product, or what have you. I’m putting up links to each review I’ve found, along with my personal pick for each category. Enjoy! Continue reading

Ask the Internets, Part One

***Update*** This post has actually turned into a separate blog. It’s kinda like asexual reproduction, really. This budded and split off into another blog! Check it out here. I’ve wittily and oh-so-originally changed the title of this into Ask Teh Internets for the new blog. I figured I might as well shamelessly milk memes for all they’re worth.

I can’t resist doing this. I happened across someone’s post (don’t recall who) that contained a screen shot of the Google homepage. You know how it suggests topics when you start a search term? In case you hadn’t already discovered, the results can be hilarious. Below are some of the better ones I came across. Note: starting a question (why do, what if… etc) is the best way to get unexpected results.

Part One has something of a relationship/baby-making theme, mostly because that’s what the results tended to skew toward. Read the highlighted result first.

I dont know, do you?

I don't know, do you?

Apparently this is a toughie for all the ladies out there (or dudes, as the case may be). Figuring out your own feelings is pretty hard, yep. *end sarcasm* Continue reading
